Picking the best location for one of our above ground pools is vital as above ground pools are designed to be there for many years.

If you plan ahead and carefully design your pool area, your above ground pool will become much more than a backyard fun area. It will become an attractive part of your home's landscape layout.

Sun Exposure
Place your pool where it will receive the best exposure to the sun. Do this by observing the movement of the sun and shadows through your yard throughout the day.

Weather Exposure
Try to shield your pool from frequent winds. This will enhance our swimming enjoyment as well as protect the pool from excessive
rain and snow exposure.

Convenience
Leave plenty of room around your pool to easily service your filter and vacuum.

Trees and shrubs near your pool may drop leaves and make clean up difficult. Also consider the best view of the pool from your house for safety reasons and consider blocking your neighbor's view of the pool for privacy reasons.

Before you install your pool, plan your landscaping. Leaving plenty of room for this now will make the job easier later. Remember, safety must always come first, even if you never find the ideal location for your pool.

Soil
The area you place your Wil-bar pool must be firma d solid. It should also be free of surface and sub-surface objects such as roots, large rocks and cement blocks from old patios or sheds.

Drainage
Land that slopes will require additional leveling to install our pool. It may also mean rain will run down the slope during storms. This could erode the earth foundation of your pool.

Zoning
Inquire from your local zoning board about the distance your pool must be from your property line as well as what size fence (if any) you must have. Ask your local utility company if any underground water, gas or electric lines are in your pool area. Be sure to leave these lines accessible.

Health and Safety Codes
Be sure to follow any water quality codes your town may have. Also, purchase effective life saving materials such as vests, ropes, poles and use the safety labels supplied with your Wil-bar pool. If you need more safety labels, write us, we'll be happy to send more at no charge.

Determine if you town requires a building permit for your pool, and ask if any electrical wring requirements exist regarding your filer or accessories.
