• ESPA SilenPlus pumps are created differently. Most companies buy a motor and attach their wet end. ESPA starts with the performance they want to achieve, designs the wet end for that purpose, and then creates a motor best suited for that pump. Making a more efficient pump.
• Much of the quality of a pump is determined by the motor. ESPA makes their own motors, as opposed to most other pump companies that purchase the motors they use. (Usually from Mexico or China) Because ESPA makes their own motors, they control the quality and have the much higher quality standards than other manufactures.
• When thinking about a pump, think flow rates and performance, not just Horsepower. ESPA variable speed pumps are more efficient and more effective with ore flow using less horsepower. (and energy cost!)
• 3 year* warranty is standard, with an extra year when the pump is registered with the manufacture making it the industries best 4 year Warranty*. (*seals and gaskets covered for 2 years)
• ESPA does not use dual voltage motors. The pumps and motors are created to provide the best possible performance and not be a “one size fits all”.  Dual voltage motors can impede performance.
  
• Fan Cooled Motor - “Totally Enclosed Fan Cooled” (TEFC) motor
  ESPA uses this as a standard in motors, thus providing a higher quality motor. Most others use “ODP” (Open Drip-Proof) designs because they are cheaper. You can usually tell a TEFC motor by the exposed fins on the case to add in cooling. Compare it to the typical ODP motor. ODP motors are protected from water only to the extent that water may “drip” onto the motor from the top. The windings are otherwise open to the elements for cooling, so dust, dirt, and sometimes water can collect on the windings and shorten the life of the motor. The TEFC motor from ESPA is rated as having an “IP55” enclosure. The windings are sealed off from the outside elements. The “55” means you can turn a hose on it from any angle without getting to the windings. 90% of pump failures in the first few years of service are due to motor failures of ODP motors.
• Class F insulation – Class F means the motor is rated up to 155 degrees C. Most standard pool motors are class B, up to 130 degrees C. (remember aluminum case, fins, etc. = better cooling).  ESPA has better motor cooling.
  
• ESPA only makes pumps. Not filters, not heaters, not salt systems, nor vacuums. Just pumps.  Their total focus is on Engineering, Designing and Manufacturing the best pump possible.
